I'm the biggest knitting slacker ever.

I don't think I've finished a single project in the last month. I feel so lame and unproductive. I will finish up a pair of longies and a pair of capris tonight and I will get them both washed and blocked. I will. I may have to stay up all night to do it, but they will get done. *pinkie swear*

Some knitting motivation

I now have this urgent need to complete lots of projects, so I can try out this awesome sock technique: http://twistcollective.com/collection/index.php/component/content/article/36-columns/65-houdini-socks I'm 100% fascinated by it and I need to try it ASAP. Unfortunately that means I will have to knit socks in pairs so I can see how well they wear- including the pair that I have halfway done already. So much yarn, so little time. How am I supposed to find time to clean my house?

The project that hates me

It's a Faraway, So Close shawl and apparently I wronged it in another life or something. I've been working on it since February when my daughter was in the hospital and it's still not done. I did have to frog 31 rows at one point because I screwed up and then after getting all of those re-knit, I decided to frog the whole thing because I didn't like how it was turning out since I was using the wrong size needles: the fabric was crazy thick and the drape was horrible because of it.

I've since purchased the correct size of needles and knit about 85% of the shawl, but again, I missed a stitch somewhere and can't figure out where, so I have one row that has the wrong number of stitches and is throwing the pattern off. I'll have to sit down today and get it all figured out, so I can hopefully get this thing done this weekend.

Also working on some longies for a swap on www.hyenacart.com and some personal projects like capris for my DD2, safety cones for my boys, and a pair of fingerless gloves for DD2. Hopefully, I can make some serious progress in the next week, as I've already got a ton of projects lined up to work on next. Yeah, I know, pictures. They'll get here sometime. ;)

Of pinafores and cupcakes

I'm knitting my way through the SMSS pinafore for Sarah's baby and waiting on some larger needles, which should be here today. *fingers crossed* I can't tell you what yarn I'm using or who dyed it, but I'll try to get pictures up sometime soon. I need to figure out how to get those little ravelry progress bars over on the side of the blog.

Those needles are going to be in a box full of yarn, which means that I have to get the kitchen clean enough to set up my makeshift dye studio today. When we add onto the house, there WILL be a place for me to dye my yarn, even if it will be cleverly disguised as a master bathroom. Stainless steel sinks and enough counter space for some crockpots and a microwave? Sounds normal to me and the architect/contractor person better not question that if they want to keep their job. Just sayin'. I should probably run some of this past Tom first.

Yesterday I worked on playfood all day, which is a rare occurrence since my wrist really can't take much crocheting using cotton yarn. I finished up two pieces and I have two more pieces that are half done. Hopefully I can get those finished today and then I only have maybe two more things to do, but probably not today. And yeah, pics will happen eventually.

Let's get it started

My business/personal craftiness blog. You'll get to see what I do, what I start and never finish, what I get angry at and throw across the room, and every once in a while, a finished project. I have tons of things that are at least halfway done and have been hibernating for too long. They'll show up here sometime. Promise.
